I have been using the Internet for many years now and I wanted to stop for a moment and say thank you. The people that created this amazing tool should be given an award and maybe a monument. Why you might ask? Well, it has brought to my life the aspect of the Open World. From surfing on my laptop, desktop, phone and even these days my television, the Internet has opened my eyes to so many things many that I would have never encountered in my lifetime otherwise. I have met wonderful people along the way. I have been able to share a piece of their lives even though we are so far from each other. I have seen the greatest of evils and sadness and the greatest of joys and the absolute beauty that the human soul can be. I have seen those that before the Internet would have not had a voice become powerful enough with the Internet to change lives of the many. I have seen the written word, a video, or just a single photo rally the world or create a dialog. Truly amazing stuff indeed.
We take so many things for granted, I think high speed Internet is one of them. We of course pay for it and expect it to work. I know that I d but sometimes I am reminded of those poor souls who have dial up still or even worse no access at all. Thank you for letting me surf in a timely fashion. Don’t get me wrong our broadband sucks in the US compared smaller countries and I would like more. In the meantime while I await that upgrade I am grateful for the speed that I have.
Oh great Internet you have provided an open world to me that has allowed me to enjoy so many things and learn more in a few years than the whole time that I was in school. I salute you and all your digital goodness and the promise of more great times ahead learning about things from all over the world. Social media, news, entertainment, information, collaboration, and the list goes on and on, it’s there for the browsing. From endless videos to countless pictures to more words than any one person could ever read the Internet has become the greatest teacher and the most amazing classroom I have ever known, period. Thank you for enriching my life and enabling me to interact with the world!
